February

25% OFF DENTAL CLEANING*

*Includes IV Catheter, basic anesthesia, prophylaxis, pre-operative blood work, extractions and medications. May not include oral surgery and/or extended or specialized anesthesia

According to the American Veterinary Dental Society, more than 85 percent of dogs and cats show signs of oral disease by age four. The trouble begins when food particles and bacteria build up in the mouth to form plaque and tartar, which leads to reversible gingivitis. Gingivitis, if ignored, will progress to periodontal disease. Irreversible periodontal disease leads to tooth decay, bad breath, bleeding gums and, in severe cases, tooth loss. When bacteria from periodontal disease travels into a pet’s bloodstream, the lungs, heart, kidneys, liver and nervous system can be affected. These infections usually are treatable when caught at an early stage. However, if they are not caught in time, they can cause serious organ damage and even death.

March

Free Heartworm test with purchase of 12 month supply of Heartgard.*

Heartworm disease is a serious and potentially fatal condition caused by parasitic worms living in the arteries of the lungs and occasionally in the right side of the heart of dogs, cats and other species of mammals, including wolves, foxes, ferrets, sea lions and (in rare instances) humans. Heartworms are classified as nematodes (roundworms) and are filarids, one of many species of roundworms. Dogs and cats of any age or breed are susceptible to infection. The American Heartworm Society recommends annual testing even in pets on year-round monthly preventative.

* Must have exam or be current on exam to participate. Cannot be combined with other offers.
